Industrial Waste with Potential

The article presents the results of a project developed by Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and funded by Colciencias. This project aims to use sludge from the paper industry in the production of construction materials.

Through this initiative, the university seeks to address one of the country’s most pressing environmental challenges. This integrated solid waste management approach makes it possible to produce construction materials with good structural properties, high quality, and low cost. These materials could be accessible to low-income populations and help promote the development of social housing in the country.
