I’m Sandra Carolina, a sustainability and climate strategy leader with a global career built at the intersection of science, innovation, and purpose.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, businesses face complex, urgent challenges—from climate risks to rising stakeholder expectations. I’ve seen how aligning purpose with strategic action enables organizations not only to adapt, but to lead.

My commitment to sustainable leadership was shaped as much by international experience as by formative moments throughout my life—moments that taught me resilience, empathy, and the value of systems thinking in driving lasting impact.

Explore the moments that have marked my path —and the foundation they provide for the work I lead today.

A Journey Toward Conscious Leadership  2021- Present

My passion for nature and collaboration began in the Girl Scouts, shaping my values early on. This led me to study Chemical Engineering with a focus on environmental solutions—transforming wastewater into construction materials and promoting water reuse. Research experiences in Spain and Germany expanded my perspective and strengthened my commitment to sustainable innovation.

Seeking to broaden my perspective, I spent six years in the United States conducting research in environmental sciences—from developing water purification materials in Puerto Rico to studying nutrient management in agricultural watersheds at Kansas State University. These experiences deepened my technical skills and reaffirmed my commitment to sustainable innovation.

Returning to Colombia, I became an Assistant Professor at the University of Medellín, teaching and researching soil pollution and solid waste management. Yearning to apply my expertise in a broader context, I led Environmental Impact Assessments at Integral S.A. before transitioning to PwC, where I guided clients on renewable energy strategies, greenhouse gas inventories, and ESG best practices.

A pivotal chapter of my life unfolded when I moved to Australia, traveling solo and immersing myself in a vibrant, multicultural environment. Working on wind energy projects at Senvion and Someva honed my leadership and contract management skills, solidifying my belief that organizational success and positive environmental impact can—and must—move forward together.

In 2021, I rejoined PwC to lead the Climate Change Unit, guiding a multidisciplinary team on decarbonization, climate finance, and ESG strategy. Using frameworks like TCFD, TNFD, and the GHG Protocol, I support organizations in enhancing disclosures, managing climate risks, and driving low-carbon transformation.

Through my lenses

You willl find the moments that shaped who I am—and continue to guide how I lead.
